Muotokuvamaalaus on keskeinen osa Serguei Zlenkon tuotantoa. Hänen malleinaan on istunut niin teollisuuden ja politiikan johtoa kuin akateemisen maailman ja taiteen merkkihenkilöitä. Maalauksissa on edustettuna koko suomalaisen yhteiskunnan kirjo. Vuosina 1991-1999 Zlenko on viimeistellyt yli seitsämänkymmentä muotokuvaa Malleina ovat istuneet mm. J. von Fieant (Flinkenberg & Co:n hallituksen puheenjohtaja), professori Matti K. Mäkinen ( Asuntohallituksen pääjohtaja), Eino Rajamäki (Suomen Yrittäjäjärjestön puheenjohtaja) ja Carl Johan Adolfson (Helsingin apulaiskaupunginjohtaja). Zlenko on ikuistanut kankaalle myös Suomen talouselämän vaikuttajia kuten Mauri Kuitunen (Autorekisterikeskuksen pääjohtaja), Robert Mattson (Asianajotoimisto Hannes Snellman Göran J. Ehrnrooth ( Fiskars Oy, toimitusjohtaja) ja Esa Hietala, (hallituksen puheenjohtaja, Tuokko, Deloitte ja Touche Oy). Taidemaalari Serguei Zlenko on saanut muotokuvamaalaustilauksia myös Ruotsista ja Saksasta.
In recent years, commissioned portraits have become the central focus of Serguei Zlenko´s work in Finland. His models include individuals from all walks of life, from industry and politics to academia and the arts. Viewed as a unit Zlenko´s portraits represent a diverse cross-section of Finnish society. Between 1991-1999 Zlenko has completed over seventy comissions including portraits of J. von Fieandt (Chairman of Flinkenberg and Co., Helsinki), Professor Matti K. Mäkinen (General director of the National Board of Public Buildings), Eino Rajamäki (Chairman of the Federation of Finnish Entrepreneurs), and Carl Johan Adolfson (Assistant Mayor of Helsinki). Commissions for portraits have come from other senior members of the Finnish business world, including Mauri Kuitunen (Director General, Finnish Motor Vehicle Inspection Ltd), Robert Mattson (Partner, Hannes Snellman Attorney at Laws, Helsinki), as well as Göran J. Ehrnrooth (Chairman of the Board, Fiskars Ltd). and Esa Hietala (Chairman of the Board, Tuokko, Deloitte and Touche Ltd.) The artist has also received portrait commissions from Sweden and Germany. Zlenko´s portraits, while painted in a realistic style, aspire to penetrate beyond the mundane. These realistic images of real people, are a challenge to the transience of real life.
