Sculpture

The ballet theme is an all-time favorite in the world sculpture. In the 20th century Russian ballet came into its full glory and achieved the peak of human self-expression through movement. Throughout the century (a tendency that continues into the 21st century) ballet was Russia’s trademark art and inspired a multitude of masterpieces in sculpture, among other art forms. Famous Russian and European artists such as Rodin, Bourdel, Erzy, S.Konenkov, B.Korolev, saw dance as sculpture that comes to life in rhythmical motion. Turning to sculpture as another facet of his multifold talent, Zlenko became a part of this brilliant tradition. His ballerinas, frozen in a dance, are the fruit of an exciting union between sculpture and choreography.
